Chair Cane is name given to Rattan bark or peel that has been processed thinner and more narrow than Binder Cane. It comes in a variety of sizes ranging from 1.50 mm to 3.50 mm and in Hanks averaging 1,000 feet. It is woven in a number of patterns, but the most common is the French Cane style. It is only used in furniture having holes drilled in the wooden frame, and in certain Wicker pieces, where it is laced into the decorative cane wrapping. One Hank of Chair Cane will complete three to five average chair seats.
